Expanded Polystryn Hard Foam (EPS Expanded Hard Foam)which was obtained from petroleum is a white heat insulation material, with closed pores, thermostatic structure. Gas used to blow granules and to make foam is penthane. After penthen provides small pore formation by blowing up granules, it is replaced with air. Therefore, stable air is collapsed in very small closed pores in EPS plates (3-6 billion in 1m3 EPS). 98% of the material is stable air. It is the most economic, enviromental friendly and excellent insulation material.

EPS has indefinite life. Besides, it is claimed that EPS dissolves by time. It can not be discussed that if EPS is used in correct density and thickness in correct place according to building structure and construction rules, it is not decomposed.

Besides, when EPS is used in a hot country with low density due to lack of information or low price desire (10 kg/m3) under the roof or terrace, EPS may become soft. It was observed that a meterial with a high density of 20-30 kg/m3 did not change for 31 years.
